Todays The Day!
Alright, so today's the day I finally get to meet my art mentor for the next five weeks, Carol. I'm really excited to start doing some ceramic art because I haven't done any in a while, i.e. lack of studio. But now its time to get my art gears in motion so I can do and learn as much sculpture and sculpture technique as is humanly possible. I'll be posting pictures of all my sculptures and studio space starting tomorrow.

5 More Days!!
Today when I checked the date I realized that in five days I would be meeting with Carol, my art mentor, to lay out work hours for the next five weeks of my apprenticeship. Not only that but I did some art yesterday, which I haven't done for a while. In fact I don't think Ive sat down to do a 2-D piece in weeks. So this new work was refreshing for me. I combined two of my previous skill sets that I've developed previously, cut-paper, and water soluble crayons. Here's a picture of that work I was talking about. Click on the picture below to enlarge.
Oh and also, about a week and a half ago I went to go check out DJ's studio at the crucible which was really cool here are some pictures from that trip as well.

Apprenticeship
I got a payed apprenticeship with a SF ceramic artist named Carol Wedemeyer! Her work is incredible, and she's a world champion footbagger, which is boss. I look forward to our first meeting (the 30th) and will be posting pictures of her work and my work in the next couple weeks.

PAINTS art auction, selling art with DJ!
PAINTS is an acronym for Piedmont Arts In The Schools. Basically it's a huge group of wealthy patrons wining and noshing at some house in Piedmont. It was great fun, DJ and I got to noshing immediately and saw the guy from the Men's Warehouse commercial. Snacking aside we entered in a silent auction for this charity, the theme was supposed to be birdhouses, so we were the only people with a huge red cat bursting out of a sign, which ended up being a good thing. Ten minutes before we arrived DJ received a text message from one of the staff that our piece had been broken and was being fixed. I wouldn't have care if they fixed the piece in time for the auction but they fixed it with only 20 minutes to spare. Our piece went from $75 to $120 in 20 minutes which was really cool. Here's a picture of me and Deej chilin in front of our piece.
