Association of Clay and Glass Art Exhibition

Yesterday I helped Carol move a bunch of her pieces to the Palo Alto Art Center where the show was set to take place. While I was there I got to meet a bunch of really cool artists and see a ton of incredible art. Today Carol and I started setting up at around nine then about an hour later the show commenced. Although Carol didn't sell any work today, there is still another day to sell and literally hoards of people were commenting on how incredible the work was (which I completely agree with). Not to mention Carol was offered two jobs for workshops at separate community centers and we had a lot of fun just chillin. Posted below are a lot of pictures from today and I'll briefly describe the artists that I covered. First I'll do Carol. Carol Wedemyer, my master is a ceramic artist who work in San Francisco and here is her art. Then Beth. Next is Patrick Storms an artist who studied at CCAC and now sells work at shows like this one. Lastly is Chfris Efstratis who I noticed to be one the more wild artist at the show.

This is a picture of Carol next to Beth Ozarow Who Ill do next.

Beth Ozarow is a ceramic artist who studied briefly at Rhode Island School of Design. Now she works as a technician for the SF Opera and does her on the side. Here is her art and a link to her site. www.bethozarow.com

Collabasaurus Rex!

Today, me and two of my multi-talented friends jammed then did a huge graffiti piece together. The jam although throughly satisfying will not be photographically documented. The piece however will. It all started yesterday when my friend Jarad told me had started on a huge piece that Jd had presented canvas for. They christened the piece without me but the rest we worked on together. Jarad and I started the piece earlier today and James came by later to throw some finishing touches. Then Jarad came back with last little detail of orange. Now for the fun part. Here are the photos of our collab extravaganza! (below is a picture of Jd, then me, then Jd, then Jarad and finally Cassy with my business card.) (Me, Cassy, Jd, and Jarad jammed yesternight.)

Carol is Great

Two days ago I drove into the city to meet my master for the apprenticeship I've been enrolled in. At first I was really excited and a little nervous to meet Carol. "Is she gonna be a cool person?" "What kind of worker will she be?" "Is she gonna be uptight?" All these questions raced through my head. But the reality pushed through the assumption and I was left with Carol. A world champion footbagger, who's super humble about her art and her achievements. While I was there we discussed our schedule (which is really exciting) and our art. Carol is a flight attendant, so she's allowed to do some of her work on the plane, which I though was really cool, but for a period of time clay was considered a plastic explosive and there was no sky high sculpting. Also because of the latter stated she has weird sleeping hours and is rarely home. Fortunately for me, I will be seeing her when she is home, and working with her. My first task was to post fliers for an art show Carol will be exhibiting in. After that I will meet her at her apartment next Friday to load and set up for the show I'm posting for. I feel so blessed to be doing this and at the same time getting paid! See you next post. Tweet this!
